‘Long Valley Harvesting Festival’ is an annual mega event in Long Valley. Co-organized by The Conservancy Association and Hong Kong Bird Watching Society and funded by Environment and Conservation Fund, participants come to celebrate the joy of harvesting. They can harvest their own Chinese Arrowhead and Water Chestnut and are entitled to take part in the ‘Chinese Arrowhead / Water Chestnut King competition’! A variety of wet farmland and farming related activities with elements of art, culture and experiential activities also take place on the farmland. Scarecrow and straw art creation, soil stove making, cooking class with local farm produces, traditional farming tool exhibition, eco tour guided by eco guides and local villagers are just a few among the activities. There would be a large-scale celebration in the 10thanniversary of the Harvesting Festival in 2016!
