Wetland Conservation

Wetland is one of the most important eco-systems on Earth. Wetland includes rivers and streams, fresh water and brackish marshes, estuaries, intertidal zones, mangroves, and also artificial wetlands such as fish ponds, reservoirs, agriculture land and water ducts. Wetlands are homeland to numerous wildlife and hotspots of biodiversity, and are particularly important to provide food and breeding sites for water birds. In addition to their ecological importance, wetlands also play critical role in flood control, coastal stabilization, filtering toxic materials and purifying water. Furthermore, wet farmland generates income to support the lives of many farmers.
