Old letter boxes are our “street heritage” and thus have high conservation value, but the number has dropped by 60%, comparing to the number in 1997. We think that the old letter boxes should be restored to their original red-black colour, with the addition of interpretative signs to introduce their history. We understand that they ware old and will finally retire one day. However, the old ones should not be removed even though they cannot be used anymore, with new ones setting adjacent to them.
