Since 2010, CA has been co-operating with several other organizations to plant native trees in Lantau Island for six years, with the aim of enhancing the natural and ecological environment on Nei Lak Shan. More than 20,000 native seedlings were planted under the scheme and over a thousand public participants involved. This planting scheme has practically contributed to the forest restoration work in Hong Kong. At the same time, it provided a good opportunity to educate the public about our close relationship with the natural environment.
Planting trees on a grassy hillside provided special experience and opportunity to support environmental improvement work to public participants.
Most seedlings performed satisfactorily and out-grew the surrounding weeds after three years.
