Since 2005, the Conservancy Association and HK Electric have jointly launched the "Green Hong Kong" project (GHKG). Through regular online tours and public guided tours, the project aims to further promote environmental education among the public, enhance their environmental awareness, and promote sustainable development in Hong Kong.
Since its inception, HKG has successfully developed 12 eco- heritage routes, including seven on Hong Kong Island, five on Lamma Island in which, two of them are night routes. The project has also trained nearly 200 eco-leaders who regularly lead the public to explore Hong Kong's rich natural resources and history, with educational information panels set up along the routes. In addition to guided tours, the project occasionally organises various environmental activities, such as forest conservation and the Mikania removal activity.

“West Town Story 2.0” Public Tour
“West Town Story 2.0” is the latest eco-heritage route developed under the GHKG project. The new route revives the rich, yet fading, stories of the Western District, encouraging the public to explore and appreciate the area’s rich historical and ecological resources.
From Victoria Road through Kennedy Town and Belcher Bay Park, the new route connects several significant historical and ecological spots, offering a fresh perspective on the unique stories of the Western District, including the newly-declared statutory monument, Lo Pan Temple, the soon-to-demolish Sai Wan Estate and the remarkable stonewall trees at Forbes street etc.
