Used clothes collection (UCC) activities have been established by The Conservancy Association (CA) since 2000. In 2006, CA was also appointed by the Home Affairs Department as one of the four designated operators of the“Community Used Clothes Recycling Bank Scheme”. The main objective of the service is to facilitate used clothes collection to the community, which includes schools, housing estates, public areas and community centres, etc. Proceeds generated from the project will contribute to the development of environmental education programs of CA.
All used clothes collected by CA will be exported to south-east Asian countries (i.e. Cambodia) for reuse purpose.
