Green our City for People Green Policy Recommendations for the Next Chief Executive

(11 Dec 2016) 24 groups and academics who are concerned about Hong Kong's environment and conservation policies are the first to make green policy recommendations to the next Chief Executive contenders. The group suggests 10 major policies including bettering rural planning and conservation, supporting of the energy saving industry, boosting local agriculture, adopting a pedestrian-oriented community planning and reducing the reliance of Dongjian water. Banner hanged on Kau Yi Chau for Opposition to East Lantau Metropolis                           No “Forced Planning”, Government should withdraw the application for appropriation of the study

(Press release, 26 June 2016) After landing on Kau Yi Chau which is planned for reclamation to be established as the East Lantau Metropolis (ELM), seven activists from green groups and concerned groups hung a huge banner with a length of 40 meters and a width of 3 meters to protest against violation of procedural justice by the government. The government had showed a model of Lantau development blueprint, including ELM and large scale strategic road system which should be published at the end of 2016, to chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhang Dejiang.
