“Used Clothes Collection – Get Fund Scheme” Summer Activity Review
The Used Clothes Collection program has been established by The Conservancy Association since 2000. The main objectives of the scheme are to reduce textile wastage by providing schools, housing estates and the community with a used clothes collection platform; and encourage people to donate their clothes for reuse. As an environmental group, we encouraged the whole community to actively support used clothes collection, while reusing and recycling locally as much as possible. 2019 Mooncake Recovery Program Recap
FRRC launched the annual mooncake recycling activityearlierthis year. Through sharing a series of Green Mid-Autumn Festival tipsonline and holding a promotional booth at Tsuen Wan Aeon Store,we hope to encourage everyone to purchase just the right amount of mooncakes, to potentially lighten the “surplus mooncake mountain”aftermath. Two collection points at FRRC andCA’s Tai Kok Tsui Officewere set up and 4 organizations joined our program this year to collect surplus mooncakes in their organizations. Hang Seng – CA Eco Rangers 2019, the annual fund-raising project of The Conservancy Association (CA), was concluded successfully on 27 October 2019. Around 400 participants joined the event. The event was successfully held and we sincerely appreciate Hang Seng Bank for its full support over the years. Stay Away from Flame Thrower: “No Hill Fire” in Chung Yeung Festival 2019
It’s October. Coupled with strong winds and low humidity, hill fires often occur especially during the Chung Yeung Festival. According to the Fire Services Department’s statistics, in 2017, 41 hill fires broke out during the Chung Yeung Festival, which the number was much higher than daily average of 2.7.
