Our determination to safeguard the environment will never be not swayed even under the pandemic. When online events become the new normal, we seized the opportunity to swift our talks and workshops to online. More than 150 Eco-Rangers from various non-profit organizations and non-government organizations joined to create their one and only upcycled painting with coffee grounds and knew more about our tree neighbors and history of trees in the community in Hong Kong in 2 online eco-talks, 2 ‘Environmental Protection X Arts: Coffee Grounds Upcycling Workshop’ (Photo 2) and 1 ‘Talking to Trees Eco-tour’.
Apart from online activities, we also took the chances to organize face-to-face eco-education activities when the situation of COVID-19 allowed. An education booth and a bib to upcycled card holders workshop were held for over 100 teachers and students of Youth College (Kwai Fong) in February and over 100 Eco-Rangers will gather to plant 1500 seedlings in Tai Tong to enhance biodiversity and facilitate countryside restoration on ‘Hang Seng – CA Eco-Rangers Tree Planting Day’ in May.
