FRRC has gradually resumed our service starting from May, yet we stay alert with regards to hygiene measurements and crowd-control to safeguard the health of our visitors. We received necessities donation and managed to distribute to those in need in our community.
Two interns just joined our Food Recycling Team at FRRC this summer! They are highly involved in our front-line food recovery work, as well as challenging themselves to dive deeper on food wise issues. Let’s check out their thoughts and experiences so far!

Food Resources Recycling Centrenot only reducing food waste, but also helping those in needs as a food bank. During my first month as intern, I was part of the food recovery operationteam, taking part in collectionfrom wet markets, examination and redistribution. Furthermore, I alsohelped prepare materials forpromotingFood Wise and sustainable development in the community viasocial media. In thisshortperiodof time, I started to pay more attentiononreducing food waste and enjoyedsharing the joy of helping others.

In this apple jam workshop, I planned and implemented the event myself for the first time. In this activity, I learned a lot of skills in designing activities and understood the difficulties in the implementation of the activity. For example, the limitation of tools used in this activity, affected the cooking time and the preparation of ingredients. These will only be known after actual experimentation. Before the event, I tried to make apple jam to help me be more familiar with the production process and calculate the materials and time required for the actual activity, so that the event can proceed smoothly.
