Pumpkin is the target theme of our farming squad for2020! Squad members have to:1. learn to plant pumpkin, 2. imply the knowledge from the trainingto actual farm work and 3. organize a pumpkin festival to promote and share farming stories with the public. This program targets those who are 18 years old or above and are interested in local Eco-farming. No farming experience is required yet high involvement is a must! Please be reminded that harsh outdoor farm work is required and it’s not a leisure farming experiencing activity. If you are willing to take the pumpkin challenge, please come and join us!

Lai Chi Wo is located at the north-east corner of the New Territories, between Plover Cove Country Park and Yan Chau Tong Marine Park. The traditional Hakka village, stream, farmland, mangrove and fun shui wood entangles to nurture numerous wildlife such as butterfly, dragonfly, frog, birds, and plants.Since October 2017, with support from the Environment and Conservation Fund(ECF), the“Management Agreement Scheme at Lai Chi Wo Enclave (MALCW)”was launched. The scheme aims to achieve sustained biodiversity and traditional rural life through eco-friendly farming practices and well-planned farmland management.
