Hang Seng – CA Eco Rangers 2019, the annual fund-raising project of The Conservancy Association (CA), was concluded successfully on 27 October 2019. Around 400 participants joined the event. The event was successfully held and we sincerely appreciate Hang Seng Bank for its full support over the years. Having supported as the title sponsor of Eco-Rangers for two consecutive years, this year Hang Seng Bank also recruited over hundred Eco-Rangers to show their supports for protecting our country parks and environment.
This year the “Plastic Trasher” was determined to take over the world with its ever spreading plastic wastes scattering across our oceans and natural landscapes. Eco-rangers (participants) used the compass and map provided by the headquarters to track it down and looked for ways to defeat it within a 2-hour limit, in order to save the environment.
Mr K S Wong, Secretary for the Environment, Dr S F Leung, Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, Mr W T Yan, Chairman, The Conservancy Association and Ms Alison Ho, Head of Corporate Responsibility, Hang Seng Bank were invited to the opening ceremony. At the ceremony, Mr K S Wong appealed participants to “Take Your Litter Home” and “Leave No Trace”, so as to protect our environment.
This year CA added many new elements at the venue. Made of plastic bottles, plastic bags, plastic tableware, plastic fruit net and recycled cartons, The up-cycled flower stand caught everyone’s eyes. Many children were attracted by the booth “Plastic Crime Scene”, which simulated two office workers’ work desks- one is full of plastic products and one is full of green products. Most of the furniture at the booth were made of cartons, including the telephones, keyboards, mouse devices and monitors. Interactive installation arts were installed at the booth to promote green messages for office workers.
Last but not least, thank you all for participating Hang Seng – CA Eco Rangers 2019. We hope that we can see you again in 2020!
