In the year of Ox, the 7th Hang Seng – CA Eco-Rangers, with “Healing Hills” as its theme, gathered around 500 Eco-Rangers in the form of 4-person spontaneous volunteer teams to clean 8 selected routes in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories throughout September to December 2021. Nearly 60 kg of litter and over 200 kg of recyclables were collected along 70 km of hiking trails (distribution as above).
Our records have shown that litter was found hanging on the branches and/or lying on the bushes or near streams. Plastic bottles, snack packaging, plastic bags and other plastic wastes were common. Click here for more details.
Eco-Rangers collaborated with Seal Eco Advance Limited, a local recycling factory, and its recycling network to collect recyclables and recycle them into useful and sustainable raw materials and products.
Let’s welcome the year of the Tiger and share the joy with nature! If you are planning to go hiking, apart from complying with anti-epidemic measures and maintaining social distancing, don’t forget to “Bring Your Litter Home” and avoid single-use disposable items.
