The Hurry Proposal for Road Works of Agri-Park

In July and October 2017, the government submitted documents to North District Council regarding the establishment and site selection of Agricultural Park (Agri-Park). Agri-Park was confirmed to be situated in Tsiu Keng, Kwu Tung South, covering an approximate area of 80 hectares. The establishment of Agri-Park will be divided into two phases and the first phase will cover around 11 hectares of land. Before the disclosure of sufficient information on planning of Agri-Park to the public, however, the government has already gazetted the proposed road works for Agri-Park (Phase 1) in November. Food Resources Recycling Centre (FRRC)

2017 Summary Time files and here comes 2017! Happy New Year! CA’s food sharing scheme, the Food Resources Recycling Centre (FRRC), was established at Lei Muk Shue Estate in July 2013. As of the end of 2017, 194 tons of fresh and packaged food has been recovered by FRRC, which benefited over 92,000 people in the past 4 years. We aim to encourage more people to participate in food waste reduction and give back to the community through mutual help and sharing by organizing enzyme workshops, food recovery experiential activities, promotion booths, school talks etc. at the same time! Sunday December 17th 2017; the coldest day in December thus far Even we put on layers of clothing we were still trembling with cold. All staff and helpers had gathered at Po Tin estate in the morning to prepare for the carnival, a kick-off event of GDEs Ph. XI. The theme “source reduction of waste” will once again be highlighted in the coming phase by encouraging residents to practice green living and clean recycling in daily life. 4 booth games along with an up-cycling workshop for residents to design their own tote bag and hook rack made from abandoned wooden pallets were arranged for the occasion. Fashion and Pollution

Between 2011 and 2017, the amount of used clothes collection increases year after year and such increase has been rapid since 2016. 2018 is here, which is also time to tally the amount of used clothes collected in the previous year. The collection average from 2011 to 2015 was 333 tons. The amount was increased further to over 400 tons in 2016 and reached 450 tons for 2017! The 100 tons increase within 2 to 3 years showed that Hong Kong people are discarding clothes rather easily nowadays.
